World Language Teacher Education and Ubiquitous Computing

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

While there have been many attempts to use technology to teach languages, there are few instances of actively using technology to teach students of language education. Following on the College of Education requirements for technology in its K-12 education programs, we initiated a pilot study to understand the implication of using ubiquitous access to modern digital tools to prepare World Language teacher educators. We made use of the video and blogging platform to focus our efforts. These technologies were used to leverage students' prior conceptions of teaching, reflect on microteaching with K-12 students, and support their study abroad immersion activities.
